Puppy learns to be groomed

Meet Emma
she is a 12 week old
cocka-poo who enjoyed her first grooming LESSON!
Yes, Emma is far to young to understand "grooming" so her owner did a lesson on how to prepare Emma for grooming so that the experience is a success. Successful grooming for a puppy is so very important because they are so easily frightened when they do not understand.
FIRST
It is VERY important that "puppy" does not associate any grooming with play time.
SECOND
Puppy needs to have short, very short, sessions to understand, not more than 5 minutes!
THIRD
Any grooming for puppy NEEDS to be on a table, counter, or the washer/dryer. Please do not groom puppy on the flour, this is confusing puppy with play time.
FOURTH
Always use a high value treat, such as low fat cream cheese on your finger, when teaching puppy about grooming. Puppy should not be playing with the brush.
